8 Years and counting!!! Today's our anniversary, time has truly flown by, and for me, today just marked another very important milestone for our family. I am very happy to have had a laid back day, between work, home and dinner.
In these 8 years, what's resulted? We've strengthened our bond, maintained communication and most important our loyalty. As a unit, our biggest accomplishment is our son. Trying to create a safe environment for him to grow up in and prayerfully >>bring in his (his three sisters in the same fashion) or (these next three) these next three, in the same fashion. #lifegoals...
Bringing a child into any relationship, will cause it's own level of stress and can test any marriage or relationship for that matter. Thank God we have a strong foundation to carry us through any of the tough times. Finding a balance is an on going struggle, but I believe as long as you remain respectful you can get through any hard times.
Even though we didn't do anything more than have a simple, delicious dinner for three today at our favorite local restaurant, it still allowed us to reflect and be thankful for the years behind us that have brought us this far and be hopeful of whats to come and the next phase in our life. I seriously had the same appetizer and entreé two weeks ago, but today it taste better. I think the chef took his time today and made the meals with a little more care...that's all you really need to do in marriage, take you time and handle things with care and everything will work itself out.
I'm not where I want to be personally, as I'm always working to improve myself and I always strive to achieve more for us as a unit, but I am pretty damn happy where we stand today with our marriage.
