19 Weeks & Counting!
I can't believe it's June!!! We're almost to 5 months and I'm very happy to say the babies and I are doing well. Looks like I've gained a total of 10 lbs...which to me, really only means my fat has redistributed because 10 lbs isn't a lot of weight. I do feel a lot bigger and back pains are starting to increase.
I was told, I likely won't have to be on bed rest because new studies have shown, there really isn't any benefit to it unless there's a serious issue. There's also a risk of blood clots. It's been deemed cruel and unusual punishment. And to think, one of my OB doctors about a month ago, said I'd be on bed rest by week 20.
My OB doctors have really stepped up their game too. They have an actual technician come in and do my ultra sounds. Prior to this the doctor would do it, and you could see as smart as they are, they really don't know how to operate the machinery. This week the technician reconfirmed that she saw the membranes between all of the babies, so that was a great relief to hear.
The doctor also informed me that with preemies, African American females have a greater survival rate than Caucasian males. This doctor also said the babies would likely be in the hospital until their actual due date October 24th. This was a little disheartening because getting a C Section at 32weeks, would mean they'd be in the hospital for two months. I'm praying the babies are healthy and at least 4 lbs or more when I deliver. Also praying they won't stay longer than 2-3 weeks in the hospital but we'll see what God has planned.
All in all, aside from my ezecma, which I'll touch on in another post and my wedding band no longer fitting (gaining weight lol), Im looking forward to a few weekends home to get the house in order. More post to come on the changes to the house!
