Sep 6 Three Years Old and Beyond!!!

The triplets have turned three…babies into big girls just that quick. Are they blossoming and growing? Like the precious Flowers that they are, YES! They are all well versed and I am in awe daily by their vocabulary. All very vocal, opinionated and smart. It’s still unbelievable sometimes when I think that we have three year old triplets, but we’ve become accustomed to the organized chaos. These kids will not let you skip a beat.

I’m sure I’m not the only parent who feels like their children’s birthday is a milestone for them, but I am super excited and a little anxious that their birthday has come. They’re at an age where they know their names and will quickly correct you if you mistakenly call them by their sister’s name. Not only do they have opinions but they ask a lot of questions. Today, I had them pause while we heard a helicopter… Beau, “Mommy what’s that?” Me, “It’s a helicopter.” Bailey, “ So it can get the balloon?” The balloon by the way, that Brook had accidentally let go when we were taking pictures for their birthday. Me, “Yes, the helicopter can get the balloon.” Their level of comprehension is crazy. There are still instances where you can’t understand them, but they understand each other and are determined to get their point across.

For their birthday this year we had some ambitious plans to host a BBQ in the backyard, but plans changed as summer arrived. Realizing that the girls friends were at their daycare it made more sense to have their party at school and have a small celebration at our house. To be honest, our backyard was in need of landscaping and in addition to that, the mosquitos were relentless!

Meanwhile, I dove into a very ambitious table scape, a DYI that took several days with three 2 year olds running around and their 7 year old brother leading the pack. What helped most was a hand pump, so I wasn’t getting dizzy blowing up balloons and this balloon strip, a plastic strip with holes in it, that you can pull the balloon through to create the garland. If you vary the sizing and pull the balloons from both sides, it’s fairly easy to achieve. Pinterest helped with a visual. This year our friends at wholesalepartysupplies.com helped us out with decorations for our BEE themed party. I was glad to find out, wholesalepartysupplies.com not only had decorations, but I was able to get custom labels for the girls favor bags! Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I didn’t want to go too crazy with the favor bags, so I decided to include bubbles, Lolli pops and noise makers, a few of the girls favorite things, all things from the website.

As you know I’m partial to Bee’s, so I thought it would be a good year for the girls to have a BEE DAY! I’ve accumulated several “Bee” honey comb” party and serving trays along the years. Although the girls are little Queens in the making, I wanted to stay away from the Queen Bee theme, just because I believe that was a little mature for them at this age. Wholesalepartysupplies.com helped me bring my Bee theme party to life, without any worries. If there wasn’t a “Bee” graphic on the party supply, they had plenty of yellow and black supplies. The Napkins, plates, cutlery, table clothes, balloons they had to support my vision. I had sworn off hosting a birthday party at my house so this was a good step towards that without having a bunch of people and children at the house, LOL, SMH. It’s funny and true that what you do for your first child, you may not do for your second, but when triplets are your second, third and fourth child, you TRULY try to figure out how you can approach every event wisely and without too much stress on my part (HELLO?!!! life goal).

With that being said, I am still creative and want to push my self. This was my first Balloon Garland and very ambitious of me, but visually it made sense. The over all design evolved from an outdoor scene to an indoor scene. The challenge was to create a table scape that was a combo of items I had, along with some I needed. I added a faux window mirror which worked perfectly with the “Bee” and Balloons, I got from Wholesalepartysupplies.com . I was short of a brick wall and ivy from outside, but it worked out. I printed and then cut out the honeycomb shapes. I know I had supplies that I didn’t use, extra table clothes, lanterns, I thought I was going to make into some shredded back drop, but ideas got scaled down and reality kicked in, so I will be using them at some point for another event. I was able to bring a lot of supplies to the day care and the kids there loved, loved, loved it. The Favors were a hit!
