Super Hero Halloween 2018
Taping into your inner super hero can be tough, but at least once a year it’s a little easier than others. This is what I admire about children and some adults alike. They can completely get into character, channel that spirit, pretend, act and tha’ts what’s great to witness. To be a child, totally escape, save the world, be a super hero, cartoon character, Tuskegee Air man, Space Cadet. All things Kanon has been in previous years. Since he’s such a character himself, with such an imagination I enjoy seeing him getting excited about what he’s going to be for Halloween.
This year he choose to be Spider Man Homecoming. Although he’s been Spider Man before, the homecoming outfit is different. I know, don’t blink, cuz you might just think it was regular Peter Parker! You can never get enough Spider Man and since the girls don’t have a preference just yet, their costumes will compliment Kanons, alwayssss until they start requesting other wise. AND, even then, and that’s a BIG AND… I’d like to keep the girls costumes complimentary or identical too, (and yes, Kanon’s will also compliment his sisters as well!) So, what will the girls be this year?!!! Little Wonder Women of course. I know, DC vs Marvel, but they are all pretty dope characters considering. I couldn’t find Black Panther Costumes for the girls size or I would have made an executive decision and had all 4 dressed in that.
Of course planning is always an issue, creative vision verses reality, but hopefully we’ll have some fun costumes for the future.
This year we got the costumes from the wholesalehalloweencostumes.com . They have an unbelievable amount of costumes to choose from. It would have been hard for me to narrow it down, except Kanon helped tremendously. They also have an amazing wholesalepartysupplies.com site. That had me brain storming and pining for my next party or event.
Soooooo why do we allow the children to wear costumes and partake in the festivities of Halloween you ask? Well as far as the costumes go and for as long as we can help it, they have to be positive characters/people, fictional or not, nothing scary, gory, evil, spooky… no ghosts, goblins, devils or witches. I think you get the point.
We kind of segwayed into the kids celebrating and dressing up because originally, we didn’t want Kanon to feel left out in the class room activities at school. He never went trick or treating because the school he went to for preschool was at a office building and the kids would parade around there and get candy. Kindergarten there was still a parade and they may have had a little something in their class room. This will be his first year trick or treating and I think he’s more excited about this costume than he is about getting any candy. I’m so happy for him and I think he’s at the perfect age. The girls will not be going because I don’t want to interfere with their schedule too much and I DO NOT want them eating any candy. Praying the weather won’t be freezing and we should be able to hit up a few neighbors and call it a night.
Hoping everyone reading has a great day and hands out a boat load of goodies.
Will keep you posted!!!
