Extra Dry Skin This Winter? You too?
With the onset of December and moving into the full blown winter season, the cold weather has my sensitive skin in shambles. Between constantly washing my hands, and never having the moisturizer near by, I find myself with rough, cracking, dry hands. Yes, you know I have eczema. I'm trying to be great, but my skin won't let me!
I've begun to notice on the girls, that they have small isolated patches of dry skin on their backs or truck areas. This isn't great, but it's much better than having full blown eczema like Kanon and I. Good thing the girls got more of their dads resilient skin (score one for dad ;).
This month our Shea Moisture, Sheabassador Box, arrived with some goodies I've never seen, so I was super excited to try them. Baby Olive Oil & Marula Wash & Shampoo And the Olive Oil & Marula Baby Lotion in the pump and Tube. The day they arrived, was actually bath day, so I felt like there was no time like the present to try them out.
My first impression was the smell and aromatics of the products are amazing. Since the girls are bigger, using our cast iron, claw foot tub can get cold, plus it's a lot of water and too much bending for me. So lately I've been bathing them in the kitchen sink. Aside from the splashing on the spices, it works out great. It's warmer in the kitchen and easy to take them from the high chair or play area right into the sink. I've also realized that when the kitchen floor gets wet from their splashing, a quick mop and voilà...clean floor!
Since two of the products were lotion, I quickly realized which one we preferred. Its the tube, not because of the size or volume, but the consistency is thicker. The Baby Wash & Shampoo, cleanses while hydrating and left their hair and skin, soft and smelling good. We layered the products which also have Avocado Oil and Shea Butter. They went to bed with their hair and skin feeling and smelling great. I wasn't sure what Marula Oil was before using this (google Marula Oil), but I'm a fan, it's literally all good!
